QUICK: Decession or Repression.. Who Cares?

Firstly, a slip of the tongue is saying the wrong word, not starting to say the right word then correcting yourself midway through it with the supposedly wrong word.

Whether he meant to say it or not though, who cares? We were happy to call "this" a recession six months before it officially became one, so what's the problem with starting early on calling it a depression?
