Continuing my short tradition of talking about things that anybody that cares will have experienced many years ago, after I write this progress update i'm going to watch Event Horizon. I was expecting it to be a cheese fest, father son rescue team and something to do with a black hole, until I read some reviews on imdb. Now i'm led to believe it's going to keep me awake tonight. We shall see.
The Easy Stuff
The food and drink stuff's going very much to plan, but I tend to be using the weekday focus of the rules as an excuse to over-indulge a little at the weekend. I'm not sure yet whether I think this is a problem.
Fake poker remains a minimal indulgence. I've relegated it to reward after productivity rather than something to get out of the way before doing something useful. I'm actually playing right now, not paying enough attention. Slow game. UPDATE - i placed 3rd. Based on the game that was a great result.
I've cut back on film this week and will have watched only one (aforementioned). I'll accept this failure as it comes due to increased effort in another area - skills development. This amounted to installing Linux and relearning everything I had forgotten.. Essentially setting up web development environment. I'll aim to see two films next week again.
Once again, no more photos. I tried to make a short video again and have concluded that this isn't what this camera was made for. This goal isn't working. I don't actually have any desire to take photos everywhere I go, and i'm not sure what I thought it would achieve. The goal now becomes "I will take my camera with me whenever I go, or feel i'm likely to go, somewhere i've never been before." Let's see how that works out.
One more work shirt - got it. This one is blue, but hear me out. You see, I melted an existing synthetic fibre shirt with an iron. I read the label afterwards, explaining the necessity to use low heat on such garments. Idiot! It was an old shirt anyway. The new one's much nicer.
Will I move to Birmingham before the end of April? My gut tells me that no, I probably won't. I had neglected to realise that when spending weekdays in Northampton, viewing places in Birmingham is absolutely impossible. I believe I will need to wait until I return to work in Solihull before I can start viewing anything. I'm okay with this. Let's revise the goal to end of May.
Staying in touch isn't a problem at the moment. I never have anything specific to say on this one. I don't like this goal either, but i'll keep it, because in the week where I can genuinely say I haven't achieved it, i'll know it's a problem.
That was a lot of detail on the easy stuff, but I've kept this bit short for most of the month so it was time to properly update. I'll keep the next bit short this time.
The HARD Stuff (remember, if I don't mention it, it didn't change since last time)
The February song is complete, and much like the January song, not finished. There is a full cut that I want to completely redo and perfect. No problem with this at all.
Exercise - I did finally get to the swimming pool last Tuesday, and i'll be back there tomorrow. Still yet to cycle again. I am aware that I continue to miss this target week on week, but i'm not changing it. Still looking for a third activity to capture my interest, and for the weather to warm up so it's enjoyable being outside.
I haven't done my budget, and I only have four days left. I will try to cram this in.

The Wasted Space
1. I won't write about checking the list whilst checking the list anymore. Waste.
2. I won't detail anything achieved more than once if nothing has changed. Waste!
The Easy Stuff
1. I will stick to my weekday food and drink ethic as set out previously.
2. I will stick to wasting less weekday time playing fake poker.
3. I will continue watching 2 or more films each week.
4. I will take my camera with me whenever I go, or feel i'm likely to go, somewhere i've never been before.
5. I will buy at least one more work shirt by the end of February.
6. I will move to Birmingham before the end of May.
7. I will stay in touch with my friends weekly.
The Challenging Stuff
1. I will continue to write a song each month.
2. I will continue to work towards my set work goals.
3. I will continue to rethink my career inside and outside my current role weekly.
4. I will find the time to manage a 3 times a week exercise schedule.
5. I will work out my budget before the end of February.
Right.. Event Horizon. Wish me luck.
