2D Gaming - Platforms, Lemmings, Worms and Goo

Never did I reach the point of being impressed by the 3D gaming revolution. Never did I keep up with the hardware to keep up with the games, whether we're talking consoles or computers. Looking at what's now available, there's no question that i'm out of touch. There is some amazing 3D stuff out there, and yet...

I think i'll just always prefer 2D games. Always was I a platform junkie. Almost genre-less 2D games such as Worms, Worms 2 and Worms Armageddon are probably my all time favorites. Lemmings was fantastic back in the day (although I never actually managed to finish it).

Mahalo Daily, which is great if the topic of the day interests me, covered a gaming conference over the last few days. The game World Of Goo by 2D Boy, an indie outfit, really stood out, reminding me of both of the above franchises. I could really see buying this, and I don't think i've bought a game in about 6 years.
